First Trip Away This Year....

Posted by MARY Cattel on

Whilst I normally blog about our caravan canopies, I thought I'd share a recent site we visited in our own caravan with you. I don't know about you but I like to find out as much about a site before I head off so there's no nasty surprises waiting for us - especially when its more than a 4 hour trip with our 'Bobby the Burstner' on tow.

It's been the most challenging of years for lots of us and it was a trip we were looking forward to immensely and thankfully it didn't disappoint. We chose a 5 pitch CL in Camrose, Pembrokeshire called Maryland's which was easy to find and a pleasant albeit a little windy journey down there from our Shropshire base.

On arrival we were aware there were 2 free pitches and we could pick either available. We were delighted when we seen the generous pitch sizes and any would have been fine for us. There was plenty of room for your van plus vehicle plus of course your caravan canopy or motorhome canopy.

We had travelled without our steps (left on the drive, doh!) but the friendly owner Ray kindly brought us over his own to have the lend of, plus a folder full of useful info such as vets, shops, and a vast array of fabulous walks in the area of which we did 3.

There is a dog friendly pub just down the road, you can see it from the site its that close. What more could you ask for? They only do food on Thurs-Sun and as we arrived Sun and left on the Thursday, I can't vouch for what the food is like but the reviews are good so I'm sure you would have full and grateful bellies after a weekend visit.

Facilities wise, its perfect. A warm, well lit cabin with 2 toilets and 1 shower. Hard to believe all this is provided in something that looks fairly modest from the outside but believe me its like a tardis. And more importantly, its spotless. I think there are fairies at work here more than the once a day that is claimed although I never seen them....but that's fairies for you...:o)

Lastly, there is a fab little spot to give your pooch a little run off lead and for the early morning and late night toilet visits. It's often something that's lacking on the smaller CL sites but not Maryland's, its a great little area. Just big enough.

All in all, this a fabulous site in our opinion. Exactly what we like. Close to areas of much interest with lots to do but if the weather is against you, a site you can sit back and enjoy. Thank you Maryland's, we will most definately be back!
